  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and cocoa powder over low heat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed cornflakes, flour, and baking powder.
  4. Pour the melted butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Stir in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a lined baking tray.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the afghans to cool on the tray for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, melt some dark chocolate and drizzle it over the afghans. Sprinkle with desiccated coconut.
  11. Let the chocolate set before serving.
