Cut the bread into cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Leave them uncovered overnight to dry.

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery and cook until softened.

In a large bowl, combine the dried bread cubes, cooked onion and celery mixture, chicken broth, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well.

Transfer the mixture into a greased crockpot.

Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours.

After cooking, let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
