Cranberries are one of the few fruits native to North America.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix well.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped cranberries.

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grease with butter or cooking spray.

Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.

Serve the pancakes with maple syrup and butter.
