  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to the instructions on the package.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter mixture, mixing well.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough mixture onto the brownie batter.
  8. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough.
  9. Use a knife to swirl the batter and cookie dough together.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 1 hour before cutting into squares.
