In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until butter is melted. Remove from heat.

Add the milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.

Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins.

Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.

Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
