Anzac biscuits have historical significance in Australia and New Zealand as they were originally made by wives and mothers during World War I to send to soldiers serving overseas.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, desiccated coconut, and brown sugar.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and golden syrup over low heat.

In a separate small bowl, dissolve baking soda in boiling water, then add it to the melted butter mixture.

Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.

Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.

Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.

Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the biscuits.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.

Transfer the biscuits to a wire rack to cool completely.
