  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Add a few drops of green food coloring to the batter and mix until desired color is achieved.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. While the cupcakes are baking, prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar and water until smooth.
  9. Once the cupcakes are cooled, spread the icing on top of each cupcake.
  10. Place a candy cane into the center of each cupcake to resemble a tree trunk.
