Chocolate Truffle Cake
Chocolate truffle cake is believed to have originated in France and was traditionally made with a ganache filling coated with cocoa powder, resembling the shape and appearance of a truffle.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 190 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 10.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a round cake tin.

Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth and remove from heat.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy.

Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously.

Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, and gently fold until just combined.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In the meantime, whip the whipping cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.

Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top.

Sprinkle with chocolate shavings.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
