Chocolate Shortbread X-Mas Trees
Shortbread originated in Scotland and has been enjoyed for centuries during the Christmas season.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 105 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 7.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and cocoa powder.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.

Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a disk.

Wrap the dough disks in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out one dough disk on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the dough.

Place the cut-out cookies onto the prepared baking sheet.

Repeat steps 8-10 with the remaining dough disk.

Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.

Once the cookies are cooled, dip the tops of each tree into the melted chocolate.

Sprinkle the chocolate-dipped trees with sprinkles.
