Potato-Green Chile Gratin

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.

Grease a baking dish with butter.

Layer half of the potatoes in the dish, followed by half of the green chiles and half of the cheddar cheese.

Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and black pepper until warm.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
