Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
