Chocolate Muffins
Muffins were originally a type of quick bread in the United States, but over time they have evolved into a popular breakfast and snack item.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
