In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Layer the ingredients in the jar in the following order: granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour mixture, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts.

Close the jar tightly and attach a label with the following instructions: 'Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy. Add the contents of the jar and mix until well combined. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.'
