  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Roll the dough into 2-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  11. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
