Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie Dunkers
The first chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Wakefield in 1938 when she added chopped up bits of a Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar into her cookie dough.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
