  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the dough in half. To one half, add the cocoa powder and mix until fully incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips into the other half of the dough.
