  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Crush the chocolate cookies and mix with melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate and fold it into the cream cheese mixture. Pour the mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set. Let it cool in the oven with the door slightly open for 1 hour.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  7. Whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Serve the cheesecake with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
