  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Crush the chocolate cookies and mix with melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate and mix with heavy cream. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cream cheese mixture and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour.
  6. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool completely. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar. Slice and enjoy!
