  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
  5. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Mix until well combined.
  6. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake tin.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. To make the ganache, heat the whipping cream in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.
  11. Pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate and stir until smooth and glossy.
  12. Let the ganache cool for a few minutes, then pour it over the cooled cake.
  13. Sprinkle the praline on top of the ganache.
  14. Allow the ganache to set before serving.
