  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale yellow. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in a small amount of the batter to lighten it, then fold the butter mixture into the remaining batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly touched.
  7. While the cake is still warm, invert it onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Carefully remove the parchment paper.
  8. Starting from one short end, gently roll the cake and towel together. Allow it to cool completely.
  9. Unroll the cooled cake and spread whipped cream over the surface. Roll it back up without the towel.
  10. Place the cake roll on a serving platter and drizzle with chocolate ganache.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
