  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg mixture and mix well.
  5. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder and fold gently until combined.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake tin.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the torte to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, spread whipped cream over the top of the torte.
  11. Decorate with fresh berries.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
