Cherry Danish Dessert
The Danish pastry actually originated in Austria, but it became popular in Denmark when Danish bakers went on strike and Austrian bakers were brought in to replace them.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 65 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 6.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 8 equal squares.

In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Place a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each pastry square.

Top the cherry filling with a dollop of the cream cheese mixture.

Fold the corners of the pastry squares over the filling, forming a triangle shape.

Press the edges together to seal the danishes.

Brush the tops of the danishes with beaten egg.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the danishes to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
