Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spread half of the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking dish. Top with the cherry pie filling, spreading it out in an even layer. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough on top of the cherry filling.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Allow to cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
