Cheesy Cheddar Mock Lasagna
Traditional lasagna is made with layers of pasta, meat sauce, and cheese, but this cheesy cheddar mock lasagna replaces the traditional mozzarella cheese with cheddar cheese for a unique twist on the classic dish.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese and beaten egg.

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked lasagna noodles, half of the meat sauce, and half of the ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers.

Top with shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
