Cheddar Jalapeno Scones
Scones originated in Scotland and are a popular treat in British afternoon tea. The addition of cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers gives these scones a delicious twist.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Gradually add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a few seconds until it comes together.

Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
