Cheddar Breadsticks
Breadsticks originated in Italy and were traditionally thin, crispy sticks of bread. The addition of cheddar cheese in this recipe gives them a delicious twist.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the grated cheddar cheese.

Gradually add the milk while stirring, until a soft dough forms.

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.

Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.

Cut the dough into long strips, about 1 inch wide.

Place the breadsticks onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush the mixture over the breadsticks.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
