Cheddar and Potato Pierogies
Pierogies are a traditional Polish dish and are often served during holidays and special occasions. They can be filled with various ingredients, but the combination of cheddar cheese and potatoes is a popular and delicious choice.

Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash them.

Grate the cheddar cheese and mix it with the mashed potatoes.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.

Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading until a smooth dough forms.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out circles using a round cookie cutter or a glass.

Place a spoonful of the potato and cheese mixture onto each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.

Boil the pierogies in salted water for about 5 minutes or until they float to the surface.

Drain the pierogies and set them aside.

In a frying pan, melt the butter and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.

Add the boiled pierogies to the pan and fry them until lightly browned.
