In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Spread a dollop of cream cheese frosting onto the flat side of a cookie and sandwich it with another cookie. Repeat with the remaining cookies.
