Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Core and slice the apples.

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the skillet.

Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are caramelized and tender.

Transfer the caramelized apples to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
