Caramel Rusks
Rusks are a traditional South African snack often enjoyed with tea or coffee.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well.

Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each part into a log shape and place on a baking sheet.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

Cut the logs into slices and place them back on the baking sheet.

Drizzle caramel sauce over the slices.

Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and slightly golden.
