Candy Corn and Peanut Cookies
Candy corn, a popular Halloween candy, was invented in the late 1800s by George Renninger of the Wunderle Candy Company. It was originally called ‘Chicken Feed’ and was intended to be a treat for farmers and their livestock.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 55 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 10.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the candy corn and chopped peanuts.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
