Buttermint Twists
Buttermint Twists are a popular treat during the holiday season, especially around Christmas!

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.

Add the peppermint extract, milk, and salt. Mix well.

Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Divide the dough in half. Add green food coloring to one half and mix until evenly colored.

Roll out both plain and green dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangles.

Place the green dough on top of the plain dough and press together gently.

Cut the dough into 1/2 inch wide strips, then twist each strip.

Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle granulated sugar over the twists.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden.

Allow the twists to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
