  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the peppermint extract, milk, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half. Add green food coloring to one half and mix until evenly colored.
  6. Roll out both plain and green dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangles.
  7. Place the green dough on top of the plain dough and press together gently.
  8. Cut the dough into 1/2 inch wide strips, then twist each strip.
  9. Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the twists.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  12. Allow the twists to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
