Butterfly Cupcakes
Butterfly cupcakes are also known as fairy cakes in the UK.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 35 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.

Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Fill each cupcake liner with the batter until about 3/4 full.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the cupcakes cool completely.

In a bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and butter until smooth. Add food coloring as desired.

Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, cut a small circle from the center of each cupcake and cut it in half. Place a dollop of frosting in the hole, and then place the two cupcake halves on top to look like butterfly wings.

Decorate with sprinkles and serve.
