  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the Brussels sprouts for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Place the cooked Brussels sprouts in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over them.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the Brussels sprouts.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes, until the top is golden and the Brussels sprouts are tender.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
