Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

Butter the bread slices and cut them into triangles. Arrange a layer of bread triangles in the prepared baking dish, sprinkle with raisins.

In a saucepan, heat the milk, heavy cream, and sugar over medium heat until hot but not boiling. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract together. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.

Pour the custard mixture over the bread and raisins, pressing down gently to soak the bread. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

Place the baking dish in a larger roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan with hot water halfway up the sides of the baking dish.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.
