  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and lemon zest.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and vanilla extract together.
  5. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  7. Spread the blueberries evenly over the crust.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining flour mixture over the blueberries.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
