  2. Cut the blood oranges into thin slices and arrange them in the bottom of the cake pan.

  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. In a separate bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture and milk to the sugar mixture, alternating between the two, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
