Betty’s Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding
Bread pudding dates back to the 11th century when it was first made as a way to use up stale bread.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Tear the bread into small pieces and place in a greased baking dish.

In a medium saucepan, heat the milk until hot but not boiling.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.

Pour the mixture over the bread in the baking dish, pressing down gently to ensure all the bread is soaked.

Sprinkle raisins on top.

Dot the top with butter.

Bake for 45 minutes or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.

Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
