  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the melted butter and milk.
  4. Stir until just combined, then turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  5. Knead the dough gently for a few minutes until it comes together.
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Use a sharp knife to score a cross on top of the loaf.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the damper is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
