Aussie Scones
Aussie scones are a classic Australian morning tea treat and are commonly served with jam and cream.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 40 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 6.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).

In a large bowl, mix the self-rising flour and caster sugar.

Add butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Stir in the milk and raisins until just combined.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.

Pat the dough into a 2cm (3/4 inch) thick round. Use a round cutter to cut out scones.

Place the scones onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Beat the egg and brush the tops of the scones with it.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the scones to cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
