  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press two-thirds of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the apricot jam over the crust.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the jam.
  6. Top with sliced almonds.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the baking dish.
  9. Once cooled, cut into bars and serve.
