Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Peel, core, and slice the apples and pears.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sliced pears, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

Cut the unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour the fruit mixture into a pie dish and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the fruit, covering it completely.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is tender.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
