  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, remaining all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add it to the oat mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them completely.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
