  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and vanilla extract. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix together the apples, cranberries, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Spread the apple-cranberry mixture evenly over the dough in the baking dish.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the apple-cranberry mixture.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
