Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg and vanilla extract. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.

Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

In another bowl, mix together the apples, cranberries, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Spread the apple-cranberry mixture evenly over the dough in the baking dish.

Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the apple-cranberry mixture.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
