Apple Butter Bars
Apple butter is a highly concentrated form of apple sauce, cooked for a long time to develop a rich, caramelized flavor.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Spread the apple butter evenly over the crust.

Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the apple butter.

Crumble the remaining dough over the top.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the baking dish for 1 hour.
