Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the diced apples and cinnamon. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
