  1. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Mix until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each into a disc.
  7. Wrap the discs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  9. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  10. Use animal-shaped cookie cutters to cut out the crackers.
  11. Place the crackers on the prepared baking sheet.
  12. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  13. Allow the crackers to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  14. Serve and enjoy!
