Almond Fudge Banana Cake
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
-
In a medium bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the mashed bananas and almond extract.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
While the cake is baking, prepare the fudge sauce by combining the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the chocolate chips are melted and the sauce is smooth.
-
Once the cake is done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Drizzle the fudge sauce over the cooled cake and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
-
Serve and enjoy!
