In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and chia seeds.

In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut oil, maple syrup, almond milk, and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.

Fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
