In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked potatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, crush the corn flakes and mix with melted butter. Sprinkle the mixture over the potato mixture in the baking dish.
